Reading and Writing Support Ideas

At Underwood West Academy, we encourage all children to develop a love of reading through reading for pleasure regularly. This involves providing access to any text types that  your child enjoys including comics, books, magazines etc. 

To support the children's development of Phonics and Reading Monster Phonics ebooks are available for all of our families to access. 

We have access to a range of assesments that can be used to support staff in identifying areas for development in phonics, spelling, reading and writing including a dysleixa screening tool.
